Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Polymer Scientist for a Managing Scientist level position in our Polymer Science & Materials Chemistry Practice in Atlanta, GA.  In this role you will perform technical consulting responsibilities, develop business, and assist with expanding the practice. 

You will be responsible for

  • Developing client relationships and converting business opportunities to project work suitable for the practice, and the firm 
  • Leading projects for failure analysis, intellectual property assessments, product development and expert witness engagements in requisite areas of expertise
  • Inspecting, scientifically analyzing, report writing and testifying for project engagements that address chemistry and polymer-related issues in product/process development, manufacturing and product use 
  • Participating in management activities including associate staff development, business planning and administrative responsibilities 

You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science or Polymer Science with a graduate studies emphasis in polymer science 
  • Practical, hands-on experience is required
  • Experience in an industrial setting, with at least 3 years of industrial experience. Consulting experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in multiple mechanical, thermal, and chemical characterization techniques for the determination of chemical and/or polymer properties is required.
  • Familiarity with various polymer-related industrial standards and methods
  • Strong background in polymer structure-property relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute experimental programs in a laboratory setting using appropriate physical and analytical techniques
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of the physical, chemical, and mechanical behavior of polymers is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong educational, industrial/practical and publication credentials
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams
