Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer/Scientist for our Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to provide impactful solutions to our clients’ urgent, high-profile, and challenging problems. You will be expected to apply electrical engineering principles and strong analytical and experimental abilities to a wide range of electrical and electronics-related projects ranging from assessments of small consumer electronics to testing of automotive electronic systems. Through this work, you will be expected to demonstrate continued professional growth and business growth with the goal of acquiring the necessary skill set to provide effective and valuable consulting services.

You will be responsible for

  • Performing engineering analyses related to ongoing Exponent work including circuit analysis, design reviews, safety compliance investigations, code reviews, and failure analyses
  • Performing hands-on testing in an electrical lab environment
  • Critically assessing challenges, test results, and test methods while keeping the overarching goals at the forefront
  • Preparing clear and concise technical reports for our clients
  • Presenting technical results to a diverse audience through verbal and written communications
  • Preparing technical proposals, pursuing business developments, and expanding the range of services Exponent provides to clients

You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Technical background in electrical engineering, electronics, embedded systems, power systems, or related fields
  • Experience in designing, constructing, and performing tests in a laboratory
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry
  • Ability to support multiple group projects and market the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice and its consulting services
